Jinho Ko

I am a Graduate student at POSTECH. My research & development interests primarily lie in all kinds of big data systems including analytic databases and distributed systems. I am passionate about leveraging data to gain a deeper understanding of the world. I believe the beauty of data systems lies in a profound understanding of the data itself and identifying opportunities for enhancement, while integrating various aspects of computer science, from algorithms to modern hardware accelerators.

I put a high value on building these systems to practically benefit humanity. For this, I am currently focusing on becoming a well-trained systems engineer and programmer. I am thrilled to experience how brilliant research ideas can lead to fascinating designs and codes, and finally, be released to the world. As a system engineer, I put top priority on working as a team and would be more than happy to work as a collaborating teammate. I am also open to discussing a wide range of topics and areas.

• Interdisciplinary fields based on data technology (Fintech, Cognitive Informatics, Bioinformatics, etc.)

Professional Experience

• Feb 2024 - Present: Military Science and Technology Soldier (군사과학기술병) at Army Consolidated Supply Depot
  • Conducting research on military supply chain data
  • Fulfilling mandatory military service (ends Aug 2025)
